It's not every day you get to see Mary-Kate Olsen outside, unless it's to pick up another pair of Spanx or order more black clothing. And yet, here she is, looking like the human embodiment of a dark cloud, having a "rare" girls' night out with Kendall Jenner at a sushi restaurant in LA. We're not sure what's more astonishing – the fact that Mary-Kate managed to venture out into public without tripping over her own feet or that Kendall didn't get bored by Mary-Kate's non-stop talking about her cat.

We're also loving the "fashionable" outfits they chose for their night out. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear all black and a scarf that's roughly the size of a tablecloth? It's not like they're trying to blend in with the crowd or anything. And by "crowd," we mean the other 12 people at Sushi Park who are also wearing all black because, let's be real, it's LA.

In related news, we've just been informed that Mary-Kate has officially reached peak "I'm a fashion designer now, hear me roar!" phase. We're not sure what this means for the future of The Row or Olsen's sanity, but we do know that Kendall will likely be there to support her every step of the way – as long as she doesn't have to listen to Mary-Kate talk about her cat.

We can only hope that this rare sighting is a sign of things to come and not just a one-off because Mary-Kate finally ran out of black clothes. In any case, we're thrilled to see these two friends having fun together – as long as they don't start a fashion trend that involves wearing oversized scarves and all-black outfits. The world isn't ready for that level of darkness.
