SHOCKING: Disney+ Loses 3 MILLION Subs After Jimmy Kimmel's Suspension - YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHY!
TrueCelebz Quick Take:
It's no surprise that Disney+ lost nearly three million subscribers after they suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live for making some (gasp) inflammatory remarks about a right-wing activist getting shot. I mean, who doesn't love a good dose of censorship and forced political correctness with their streaming services? It's not like people actually want to watch comedy or something. Nope, we'd much rather have our opinions dictated by the powers that be.
But seriously, it's not all about Kimmel's show being yanked off the air (although, let's be real, that was probably a major factor). I'm sure Disney+ users were just thrilled to hear about those lovely price hikes they implemented in September. Who doesn't love paying more for less content? It's like getting a participation trophy for showing up! "Hey, thanks for subscribing! Here's an extra $5/month for the privilege of not watching as much stuff anymore!"
And don't even get me started on how "positive" Kimmel's return to air was. Oh boy, 6.2 million viewers is just a paltry sum compared to the millions of people who were probably too traumatized by his initial remarks to ever watch TV again. I'm sure all those viewers were just clamoring to see him back on screen, making fun of politicians and whatnot. It's not like they'd rather be watching actual comedy or anything.
Anyway, it seems Disney+ is learning that trying to appease the Twitter mob and censor their hosts might not be the best strategy. But hey, at least the shareholders are probably thrilled about those sweet, sweet price hikes. Silver linings, am I right?
