Tom Hanks Just Unleashed a Scathing Tribute to His Late Apollo 13 Co-Star - You Won't Believe What He Said!

TrueCelebz Quick Take:
Oh boy, can't believe it's finally happening: Tom Hanks is paying tribute to someone he didn't actually know that well, but hey, he played the guy in a movie! I mean, what's more personal than that? It's not like Hanks actually spoke to Lovell or anything (although I'm sure they exchanged some top-secret astronaut handshakes). Nope, it's all about the Instagram post, baby!
But seriously, folks, Tom Hanks is basically saying "Hey, Jim, you're a real stand-up guy... and also a space pioneer who went to the moon and stuff." I'm sure Lovell was just thrilled to have been immortalized in a movie that's more about explosions and shouting "Houston, we've had a problem" than actual space exploration. And kudos to Hanks for using phrases like "dare, dream, and lead others"... yeah, because that's exactly what Jim Lovell did: led people on a wild goose chase around the moon while nearly killing everyone on board.
And don't even get me started on the part where Lovell makes a cameo in the movie as... wait for it... the captain of the ship that recovers the Apollo 13 crew! Wow, what a thrill-ride. I'm sure Lovell was just thrilled to be a part of this cinematic masterpiece, and not at all forced into it by his agent or something. And Hanks' words about "many voyages around Earth and on to so-very-close to the moon" are basically just a thinly veiled attempt to remind us that he's actually an astronaut too... in his dreams.
But hey, Godspeed Jim Lovell, indeed! May your spirit soar through the cosmos, while I'm stuck here on this planet, wondering how we went from actual space exploration to "Hey, let's make a movie about it and call it Apollo 13!"
