I mean, who needs subtlety when you're trying to convey your outrage over a TV cancellation? It's not like Kimmel has a reputation for being a master of nuance or anything.

I'm sure the timing of this cancelation has nothing to do with Colbert's recent jab at Paramount, CBS's parent company. Nope, it's just a coincidence that it happens mere days after he dissed them in a way that was probably super hurtful and not at all calculated to stir up controversy. Meanwhile, I'm over here wondering if Kimmel would be as quick to rage against the machine if his own network hadn't already yanked the rug out from under Colbert's feet.

On a related note, does anyone else find it suspicious that CBS is suddenly "re-evaluating" their programming strategy in May? I mean, what could possibly go wrong with leaving a show on the air until then? It's not like they're trying to avoid any more public backlash or anything. Nope, it's just a coincidence that this cancelation aligns perfectly with Paramount's efforts to merge with Skydance Media and curry favor with Trump's FCC. Nothing to see here, folks!
